Centro Primeros Pasos thanks you for your time and interest!
Thank you so much for touring with us! Please review the attached information as a follow up to our tour. We’d like to be sure you are familiar with basic policies and next steps before applying. Transitioning children into care: At Primeros Pasos we prefer to ease into the full day schedule with a transition visit followed by shorter days at first, ramping up to full days. We follow the child's individual cues; this might take just a few days for a young infant or an older Preschool student previously in group care. It generally takes approximately 5-7 school days for most older infants / young preschoolers to ramp up to happily being in school for a full day. Please plan accordingly when indicating your preferred start date on the application. We use a “storybook technique” (even for infants!) to familiarize children before they start with us. We provide photos of our school, classrooms, and teachers with suggested talking points and ask parents to print this into a simple "storybook" to share with your child before their transition visit. We have seen how those 2 details really help children adjust more comfortably and quickly! Deposit and Tuition: If your family chooses to apply and we agree on a mutually acceptable start date, the next step is for families to remit a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold your child's place (please do not remit this before all is set.) The deposit payment is preferred via Zelle to business@primerospasossf.com. You may also mail a check to Primeros Pasos at 901 Bayshore Blvd., Suite 101, San Francisco, CA 94124. This deposit is non-refundable. One month before your child's start date, we will open your family's communication portal in Brighwheel. We ask all families to complete payment of last month’s tuition at that time. The (by then) previously paid $500 deposit is applicable to the last month’s tuition. For the duration of the family's enrollment, tuition payments are made through Brightwheel as our ACH. On the first day of school, that first month’s tuition is due. We prorate first month’s tuition if start date is not at the start of the month. Monthly tuition is due on the first of the month thereafter, and is not prorated for family vacations or other absences. Reference Information: For families who move forward with enrollment, we request execution of our Primeros Pasos Agreement at the time of paying the enrollment deposit. We also ask all families to execute a City-required agreement related to COVID-19 at this extraordinary time, a copy of this form is available here: - SFDPH acknowledgment required by the City. Also please find the following reference documents for your information: - Our 2023 calendar. - Our 2023 tuition schedule. Please note we typically have an approximately 5% increase annually which goes primarily to fund teacher salary increases. We have limited, privately offered financial aid available. If your family would like to apply for financial aid, please email us. Lastly, at enrollment time we distribute “parent homework” additional forms required by our Center and by the State to be completed prior to the first day of school.
